A Pandemic In Review
A Pandemic in Review is a personal and visual reflection on the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic during early 2020. The project combines the dual reality of the pandemic by blending news archives with personal diary entries. The book combines news archives and personal diary entries, providing a multifaceted view of the pandemic's emotional and societal effects. Acting as both author and designer, I gathered data, news reports, and personal reflections to create a cohesive visual narrative, blending factual data with personal storytelling to capture the raw experience of living through the pandemic.
Requirements & Result
The goal was to create a comprehensive yet accessible book, sourcing visual elements and data to align with the narrative structure and balancing information with personal reflection. The final product features diary entries written during the pandemic alongside key events, offering insight into both the collective and individual experience. Through layouts that highlighted both the emotional impact and factual aspects, the final book served as both a historical record and a personal memoir, offering readers a nuanced understanding of the pandemic's global and personal dimensions.
